“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we did get sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.” ~Buddha
To Realize
Author: Unknown
To realize the value
of a sister or brother:
ask someone
who doesn't have either.
To realize the value
of a mother and father:
ask an orphan.
To realize the value
of ten years:
ask a newly
divorced couple.
To realize the value
of four years:
ask a graduate.
To realize the value
of one year:
ask a student who
has failed a final exam.
To realize the value
of nine months:
ask a mother who
gave birth to a stillborn baby.
To realize the value
of one month:
ask a mother
who has given birth to
a premature baby .
To realize the value
of one week:
ask an editor of
a weekly newspaper.
To realize the value
of one minute:
ask a person
who has missed a train, bus or plane.
To realize the value
of one-second:
ask a person
who has survived an accident.
To realize the value
of one life:
visit the Vietnam Wall in DC
To realize the value
of a friend:
lose one.
To realize the value
of a family member:
visit Ground Zero
in New York City
Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when
you share it with someone special.
The origin of this poem is unknown, but its value is priceless.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Thank you, THANK YOU! You have NO Idea how badly I needed to read something like this today!

ReplyDelete"A very nice thing to hear after walking almost 5 miles, the furthest I've gone and amazing, I'm still alive. But alas, time to go take a shower. I got this comment on my cell phone just as I climbed the two flights of stairs up from the HS track, the stairs are as demanding as an entire mile, especially when they are after I've done a few. Anyway, I hear my shower calling for me.
CJ thanks for the affirmation after my walk! ;)"

"To realize". How these words ring true.
Thanks for sharing this lovely poem from an anonymous writer.
I realize what a great friend I have in you. ♥♥
I love you guys, Kay and Gabby and Jan. Your comments warm my heart and soul. Someone sent the poem to me in an email some time ago. I added a few stanzas of my own, since it was anonymous, and this morning, I got the whisper to post it to the blog. They always know ... don't know how they know, but they do.
ReplyDeleteI've read this before but I still love to be reminded of this. I like the friend one the most because I lost a best friend in Katrina and know that value all too well.
